Store policies.

Store policies.

My job does not provide me with a set schedule because it varies every week. Most days, though, I get up at 6:00 a.m. to get dressed and drive my younger sister to high school. Later, I either return home or drive straight to work. I return home after my 8-hour shift to rest a little before preparing dinner.

I work in customer service, therefore I have to deal with and obey a lot of strange shop regulations. For example, if a customer has the receipt and the product, I can't refuse a refund, even if the item is a dead plant or a three-year-old light bulb. I'm new to this job, and despite my training, there were still things I didn't know. For instance, a few weeks ago, I was requested to work in the garden section. However, before I could change, I had to tell a few employees that the shop had possible thieves. Unfortunately, they had already stolen $1,000 worth of stuff when I arrived in the garden department. I was surprised that my coworker didn't try to stop them, but then I learned that many stores prohibit employees from intervening in thefts. Many establishments have a "no touching" policy that bans personnel from stopping shoplifters; they must be dealt with by the authorities.
